I think you and I are a lot alike, at least in some ways. I’d love to talk to you about it some time. It is indeed a rollercoaster trying to stay positive about your efforts. Ironically, I have this daydream about winning the lottery, and one of my investments would be to fly over to the UK and help you and Simply Syndicated. I love the network that much. But yeah, if I were to give you 1000s of dollars, you do need to change a few things! You’ve got a great base to build upon Rich. I’m here to help. You know where to find me.

When I was trying out Windows 8 developers preview recently what struck me straight away was that one of the main tiles that greets you on the Start screen is a Podcast client called “Mopod”.

If that stays in when the OS is released it could be that podcasting will at long last will go mainstream.

Hi Rich,

I’m probably part of a silent majority – one who listens, laughs and cries to the many podcasts on the Simply Syndicated network. While what you have created and cultivated over the past six years may not mean much financially – you have bought together an eclectic mix of people.

This is truly a sad day. I hope that the podcasts still continue in some shape or form. They are a joy to listen to. Please be aware that your hard work has not been in vain.

You will be missed.

While I haven’t been able to be as present in the forums as I was in the beginning, I still tune in. And that’s the point. Five years later, and I’m still tuning in. That’s the impression you, and all those who stand with you, leave on people. I have been in your shoes, trying to find the right combination of contentment and success while doing what I loved. I still haven’t quite found it, but it gets better. I am very hopeful for you. A man who is willing to express doubt about what he is doing, critique his plans and assess his outcomes is not a weak man. Nor is he wasting his time. Simply Syndicated is a beacon for podcasting around the globe. And you are the heart of that beacon. You keep it moving, flowing, evolving. Sure, it doesn’t make as much money as you’d like, but it achieves something so much more valuable. It brings people together. It is a touchstone for like minded people EVERYWHERE. Dude, that is epic. And it’s all thanks to you. So thank you, Rich. And please, whatever you decide to do, remember that working in a job that covers the expenses of life doesn’t have to equal giving up your passion.

Maybe 2nd week of December isn’t time to break down so much as wake up?
I admire your honesty and introspection. Maybe if you use that as info for action more and less to beat yourself down? No one can hurt you and keep you down so well as you can.
